Research
I study the social impacts of climate change on forest management, logging operations, and forest recreation in Wisconsin. My research objectives are:
- to understand the influence of weather and other seasonal factors on the timing of timber operations
- to analyze logger perceptions of the financial challenges in timber operations

Biography
I am originally from Wisconsin, and I earned a BA in Latin American Studies from UW-Madison in 2007. During college I lived in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, for two years, and after finishing college I moved to rural Paraguay.
As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay, my activities encompassed working with farmers to improve beekeeping skills and honey marketing strategies; organizing a girls youth group; facilitating hands-on cooking classes to take advantage of abundant produce; and teaching environmental art at the elementary school. I started my own beekeeping business in Wisconsin after working with beekeepers in Paraguay.
I enjoy paddling in the kayak I built, riding my bicycle around town, and eating honey.
